Privacy policy for the volunteer interest form
This page covers volunteer.brandonrescue.org and the volunteer interest form on it. It is written in plain language on purpose.
Last updated 11 August 2026.
What we collect
When you submit the volunteer interest form, we receive only what you typed into it:
- Your full name, email address, and phone number (all required, so that someone can actually get back to you).
- Which interests you ticked — the driver/VEFR program, EMS training, speaking with someone, or the 16–17 EMR pathway.
- Your preferred contact method, if you chose one.
- Your message, if you wrote one.
- The fact that you agreed to be contacted, and when.
Alongside that, our server records a small amount of technical context with each
submission: the date and time, the page address the form was submitted from, your
browser’s user-agent string, and any campaign parameters in the link you arrived
through (for example utm_source, utm_campaign, or a Google Ads
gclid). That last group tells us which outreach is actually reaching people.
It does not identify you beyond what you typed above.
We do not ask for, and the form cannot accept, any medical or health information. Please do not put any in the message box.
Why we collect it
One reason only: so that a Brandon Rescue representative can follow up with you about volunteering. We do not use it to send newsletters, fundraising appeals, or marketing.
Who can see it
- Submissions are stored in a Google Sheet in Brandon Area Rescue Squad’s own Google Workspace account, restricted to squad members who handle volunteer inquiries.
- A notification email goes to chief@brandonrescue.org so someone knows to follow up.
- Google processes and stores the data as our service provider, because the sheet, the form backend, and our email all run on Google Workspace.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We would only disclose it if we were legally required to.
How long we keep it
We intend to keep volunteer inquiries only as long as they are useful for recruiting and for keeping track of who we have spoken with — and to review the sheet periodically and remove entries that are no longer needed. If you ask us to delete yours, we will delete it, whether or not that review has come around.
Asking us to delete your details, or correct them
Just ask. Email chief@brandonrescue.org or call our non-emergency line at (802) 247-3231 and say you want your volunteer inquiry removed. You do not need to give a reason, and it will not affect anything else. You can also ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask what we hold about you.
If you are under 18
The EMS provider pathway is open to people aged 16 and over once they are certified at a minimum EMR level, so some people using this form will be 16 or 17. If that is you, please let a parent or guardian know that you have contacted us. A parent or guardian can email or call us at any time to ask what we hold or to have it deleted. The form is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies of its own — there is no login, no session, and no tracking cookie coming from us. The following Google tags do run on these pages:
- Google Ads conversion measurement, so we can tell which advertisements bring people who go on to submit the form. It sets a Google cookie to remember which advertisement you clicked. It records that a form was submitted — not what you typed in it.
None of your form answers — your name, email address, phone number, or message — are ever sent to Google Ads or Google Analytics. Blocking these tags in your browser will not stop the form from working.
Security, and one important limit
The form is submitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection and passed to Google Workspace over another. Access to the sheet is restricted to squad members who need it.
Never use this form for emergency assistance, and never for anything clinical. It is checked by volunteers when they are able to, not monitored around the clock. For any medical emergency, call 911.
